SE England Control Centre, Paternoster Square, London
After the war the LPTB wanted the lower levels of their lift shafts back and so NC had to move out of The Hole.
Hitler had conveniently flattened Paternoster Square just north of St Pauls Cathedral and so a temporary structure was erected to house National Control.
At the same time SE England was divided into Thames North and Thames South control areas and provided separate control rooms in the same building.
NC was on the first floor directly above the two Thames N and S Control Rooms.
We have written a description of the NC arrangements and collected together a number of photos showing the location and internals of the Control Centre.
